I have completed the final draft of Te Whakapouri...The Darkening. It shall remain as it is, word for word. It is easy enough to rewrite, rewrite and rewrite a script. You just have to say enough, then focus on making what you have written, into the best short film you can.
It is now a 8 min short film, but once translated into te reo Maori, it will be about 10 mins. I have done most of the 1st rough story board. I have also begun a budget, plus a mission statement, as to my vision for Te Whakapouri...The Darkening. I started it off as a feature film, but it is now a short, and I am happy with that.
The film is quite unusual actually. It does not follow the stereotypical 3 act Hollywood structure. No, it is in essence a truly creative and artistic piece and I am proud of it.
I will be keeping a regular update on here (and by video, once our broadband is back on line), to state exactly where I am in regards to the progress of my short film Te Whakapouri (and my other film making ventures). On Monday I will start fundraising.
On Wednesday I start my advanced editing course. In May is the 48hr comp. So I will be busy.
Do what you can
with what you have
where you are.
